Letter Received

"Greetings Crede and Mike!

Just wanted to thank you both again for the fantastic time that my family had at the "Friday on the Farm" (August 22) outing. Benjamin still talks about the farm and often asks me "When can we go back to the farm?" He also tells me how much he loves Indigo!! A great time was had by all!! Thanks again for everything.

Sincerely,

Debbie Weinberger.

Only 20-25 minutes drive from Deep Creek Lake

Directions From Deep Creek Lake,
Follow 219 North past and over I-68 to stop sign at Route 40. Turn Right (East) on Rte 40 and follow downhill and uphill to Left Turn at Zehner Road. There is a roadside picnic area on Rte 40 at this turn and a sign for Keystone Lime Co. Follow Zehner a short way bearing left at church, past the Amish Farm and take the first left at Hetrick Road. Go a few hundred yards to the first driveway on the left and follow driveway back to the big red barn you can see across the field.

About 20-25 minutes from the Lake.

Available Programs feature several activities that all ages will find educational and fun. Let the stress melt away 'down-on-the-farm'. Also available as a custom program for groups and bus tours.

Short Hayride
Tour the back 40 on a haywagon accompanied by a guide. Learn about the history of the farm and the local plants and animals. Some information about the old farming ways of the area is shared.

Visit with the Animals
Learn about and see ancient breeds of Jacob's Sheep and Dexter Cattle. Also pet and feed baby goats, learn about and see lamas, and take a peek in the 1880's barn.

We'd like to welcome Sadie our new baby lama born 2003.

Enjoy a Cozy Campfire
The farm program ends with a campfir. Kick back
and relax around a crackling fire to the sounds of crickets and the peaceful country. Kids will love pokin around in the woods and chasing frogs by the pond. Bring a picnic, drinks, or maybe hot dogs for the fire. We provide marshmallows and sticks. Box lunches or fried chicken dinners available for an extra charge for groups of 10 or more.
